Some people mistake effort for inherent value.  Often, the most remarkable and charming works of art are produced spontaneously.  If we try to repeat them, we fail, because the introduction of effort in "trying," banishes the whims of serendipity.

There are times when growth--artistic and otherwise--is accomplished by noble struggle and effort.   These can be most important.  However, when you have a choice, allow the truth and simplicity of the moment to determine the outcome.
