Sometimes, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of being an artist. We tend to lead dramatic lives, not because the events are necessarily so extraordinary, but because we choose to respond boldly and with broad strokes of color.
However, there is a point where we internalize the drama, and do not seize the reins because we've bought into the idea that "an artist must suffer," or that being a true artist means living with internal chaos.
It is possible to live with wild abandon, savoring every moment and its glowing potential for experience. However, it is possible to maintain equilibrium in the eye of any hurricane.
It is from this point of stability that an artist can create her best work.
