Kilmallock stamp/essay, 2/28/00

This is the first stamp that I created from my own artwork, on my color printer. The finished stamp is about an inch tall and about 1 1/4 inches wide.

The painting shows a path in rural Kilmallock, County Limerick, Ireland. The imagery is similar to the mythical and magickal land of Ballynafae, so it seemed an appropriate first stamp.

This is an "essay" stamp, because it was the first version of a stamp that was later printed with different, smoothed text.
