2004: Kylemore, Co. Galway, Ireland
I painted three versions of the same scene, to show different approaches to color. The view is from in front of the Abbey, not far from the parking area.

2004: Fort Worden, Port Townsend, Washington State
I painted these at sunrise on the cliffs overlooking the beach. I was trying to capture the light as it was reflected in the water.

2004: Assorted studies
These are sketches and studies, mostly from photographs, experimenting with palettes and color combinations. The top row are from photos taken on Prince Edward Island. The middle row are paintings from memory. The lower row are scenes from southern coastal Maine, around Kennebunkport.
